Left-Side Dilemma for Cardiff City

Cardiff City left-back Mark Kennedy picked up an injury last Satruday and will miss out tonight against Blackpool prompting a re-shuffle amongst the Cardiff City back-line with several options available to Dave Jones:

Most likely is the inclusion of Miguel Comminges, a full-back by trade and covered for Kennedy earlier in the season. This was the substitution made by Jones on Saturday and is a straight swap.

Darcy Blake could come in, with McNaughton switching to left-back. Joe Ledley could also move from midfield to defence, a position he fills effectively and would also lend a greater threat in attack as we go all out for the home win. Peter Whittingham would take Joe's place on the left wing.

Tony Capaldi is a natural left-back and is now in full training after a knee injury but this game is likely to be too soon for the Northern Irishman as he is well short of match sharpness.

I have been impressed by Kennedy since he joined on a free transfer. I admit to feeling a little bemused that a Palace reject was in our starting position and in an unfamiliar role but he has filled the left-back position very well and looked solid if unspectacular on every occasion.

I agree, Mark has made a good impact on our squad since he arrived and looks a very solid player. i have not been so impressed with Comminges, maybe he is trying to hard, but i always seem to cringe when i see him run past the halfway line and leave us open at the back!

agreed - he's a little erratic. Its difficult to tackle him though which may be why DJ prefers him in midfield - no end product is a problem though!

if he played for the cardiff blues he'd get 3 points all the time though!! lol

commingues is a natural right wide midfielder, so he is bound run up, hes another version of kerrea gilbert, exelent at runnin wide, and crossing, only problem is we have no-one in the box to finish the cross
