Cardiff City Captain Fit To Face Blackpool

Cardiff City skipper Darren Purse will not miss any games for the Bluebirds after recovering quickly from a leg injury sustained in the first half of Saturday's 1-0 win away at Nottingham Forest.

Purse was replaced by debutant Gabor Gyepes at half time, the Hungarian doing reasonably well as cover. Gyepes put in some meaty challenges and intercepted well on occasion but is still learning how our defence plays and would need time to settle.

Purse however has been passed fit and will go straight back into the starting line-up for tonight's home clash against Blackpool.

The last ten minutes of a game is when the fitness and the hunger really shows. And you showed both tonight. That keeps you in contention for the automatic promotion places.

Purse was excellent - probably his best form since he joined CCFC. I was worried about Burgess but Purse kept him quiet all night
