'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jones Targetted by 'Sick' Nottingham Forest Fans

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones was today subjected to a barrage of abuse from the Nottingham Forest fans - disgusting chanting which has no place in football

The chants centre around unfounded allegations made against Jones some years ago. At the time, Jones lost his job against Southampton and is still having to put up with this kind of stick.

Of course, banter is a huge and integral part of the game but those fans involved should feel ashamed of their behaviour. It was too far. These chants have been heard many times before, but I was suprised to hear it at Forest and every time it is just as disgraceful.

Great credit to Dave Jones who took it all extremely well. His only gesture being a 'thumbs down' gesture to an area of the crowd. Cardiff City fans supported the manager well with our own singing and Jones later did the ayatollah in appreciation.

In all, this was just another reason the three points today were especially well received - we didnt even deserve them!!!

Now there's always two sides to every story me owd Bluebird and your fans were not exactly little angels today either. I haven't read your condemnation of the fans who made sick chants about Cloughie, or the constant jibes about the miners strike. Glass houses and all that.

...oh yeah! and let's not forget the Shipman chants either, eh. But that's only football banter isn't it? And don't get me started on the anti English stuff mate. Yep. You certainly have the moral high ground. Think before you write such crap in future!

sorry mate - talking from your arse. I make no apology for the content or sentiments in this article. I know as well as anyone there are some idiots associated with Cardiff City, as there are with any club. It doesnt condone what went on yesterday and whatever chip you have on your shoulder - dont bother trying to justify it.

I listened on the radio, now, I dont know where the mics were but I could only hear our fans for most of the game and didnt hear anything particularly bad - the only time a i heard forest fans was when they were after Dave Jones - i wudnt have accepted it so well meself
