Cardiff City goalscoring ace Ross McCormack was the difference between the teams as we beat Charlton Athletic on Saturday - scoring two goals to add to the 6 he already had.
The first was about being in the right place, reacting quickly and a neat finish past Nicky Weaver. The second saw him spring the Addicks' offside trap only to be hauled back. It looked a penalty but no matter as Rosco finished the free-kick to the same result.
Ross is perhaps not the most natural of goalscorers, he loves to come wide or deep to receive possession and sometimes that leaves us short of attacking options in the middle. However, equally as impressive as the goal tally to date is the work-rate, determination and adaptability of the young Scottish forward. He has changed his game to fit, while his partnership with Bothroyd is also growing in understanding.
The 2 goals moved McCormack to 8 goals and he now leads the Championship scoring charts along with Reading's Kevin Doyle - widely tipped for a big money Premiership move in January. An excellent result for a young, relatively unproven, player picked up from Motherwell for the meagre fee of £120k.
Hopefully, Rosco's run of form will continue and help fire us even further up the Championship table. Who knows... maybe some others will start chipping in with goals!!!
