Cardiff City manager Dave Jones will be feeling a little happier today after many of his first team regulars have now returned to full training following spells on the sidelines. After a tough away game to Blackpool, during which McNaughton, Ledley and McPhail all picked up problems - the International break came at the right time for the Bluebirds.
Both McPhail and McNaughton look ready to play on Saturday when Charlton Athletic are the visitors to Ninian Park. However, Welsh International Joe Ledley will definately miss out with the groin strain that saw him limp off and miss Wales two games this week.
In addition, Dave Jones welcomes back Tony Capaldi and Riccy Scimeca into the fold. Both are regular first-teamers when fit but have each been out for some time. Capaldi will have to oust Commingues or Mark Kennedy to regain his place at left-back while Scimeca will need time to acquire match fitness when he will challenge Gavin Rae for a place in central midfield.
Whilst the only casualty at present (Ledley) is undoubtedly a key player, he has not been at his most dangerous recently and left midfield is a position in which we have excellent options. Mark Kennedy, Peter Whittingham and Paul Parry would all count left wing as their most effective position and will fight it out for the starting slot.
