What's Wrong With Eddie Johnson ?!?

Cardiff City's signing of Eddie Johnson seemed to be a step in the right direction after the multi-million pound striker joined on loan for the season from Fulham. However, it has not worked out well so far and Johnson has been little short of a disaster in his handful of appearances to date.

Already getting booed for substitute appearances, Johnson has offended the Cardiff City fans after some hapless showings - most upsettingly during a dire first half against Swansea City where he looked completely ineffective and disinterested.

There must be some reason why Fulham paid £3 million for his services and Dave Jones insists Johnson needs more time to settle and adjust. Rarely do players get that with the Bluebirds but a quality player from the Premiership should show some promise immediately at this level.

A poll is now open (right hand side of your screen) asking for opinions on Eddie Johnson. We are not actually allowed to send him back to Fulham until the end of the season except in circumstances of injury or Fulham choosing to recall him in January. We are also likely to be paying big wages (though not all of his massive salary) to the American who has been left out of the latest USA squad.

Whilst a miraculous turnaround is still possible, and Johnson could potentially be the man to fire us into the Premiership - it seems very very unlikely to date and Johnson could be the newest and most expensive addition to the list of striking flops brought to the club by Dave Jones joining the less illustrious names of:

Iwan Redan, Luigi Glombard, Guylian Ndumbu-Nsungu, Jason Byrne, Warren Feeney, Matt Green etc. At present, he's contributed much less than even Robbis Fowler and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink..... who would have thought that possible?!?

Suprisingly: 50% at present are behind Eddie/giving him a chance. Wondering if thats true opinion or some visiting Swans fans.....
