Purse Hits Back At Dave Jones Over Error

Cardiff City captain Darren Purse is understandable unhappy with Dave Jones after the Bluebirds manager chose to openly criticise a Purse mistake for Birmingham City's opener on Saturday.

For Jones' comments, see here.

Now, Darren Purse has hit back and believes that what goes on in the changing room should largely remain there. I have to agree with Purse, with Dave Jones' comments frustrating many cardiff city fans believing our problems run far deeper than an isolated defensive lapse.

Purse told BBC Sport:

'When things are said in the dressing room they should stay in the dressing room.'

'If people hold their hands up I don't think it needs to be emblazoned over the papers on a Sunday morning.'

'Little lapses that come out, they need to be kept in-house amongst the players and management staff and hopefully we can address them together instead of involving other people.'

'Things are better dealt with in-house, it's as simple as that.'

Several members of the team already look scared of making any errors, and we seem to be suffering from a lack of confidence. I have to question Dave Jones managerial expertise when he openly criticises one player - when only 1-2 of the team could be properly satisfied with their performances.

Purse has played every game since Glenn Loovens' departure, but Jones has already spoken openly of Gabor Gyepes waiting in the wings for his chance.

100% support for Darren Purse - he's been magnificent most of the time in defence and he is a superb captain.

i feel sorry for purse as he has played well last few games. and his point is fair as dave jones hasn't criticised anyone else before publicly. not the right thing to do as morale at the moment seems to be suffering. my logic at the moment is to remove some of the players performing badly and there isd a few and bring in the youngsters.
