'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Still No Midfielder For Cardiff City....

Cardiff City bosses made strong noises previously about bringing in quality, the right player to help ease our midfield worries - we were told that the club was in contact with a number of Premiership clubs regarding loans.

However, during the 2 week International break we have hear virtually nothing save for the Alexey Smertin saga - he was apparently never going to join anyway!

The problems arise from injuries to Gavin Rae and Riccy Scimeca, leaving us short of muscle in the centre. This means a change for Joe Ledley inside, but a Ledley/McPhail partnership does not seem ideal for the Championship.

It could well be the case that Gavin Rae has progressed well, and could come into contention for this weekend, or possibly the next game. This has not been confirmed by the club, and the lack of any information at all is a cause for concern.

Why, when other teams around us are free to recruit, do we bide our time and end up missing out. We were told there were back-up options, have those been chased up and all ended in failure? We would have expected to hear.

Most likely seems the club has deceided to make do with the current squad, but hope the fans forget about the previous promises. They won't and by trying to cover up could make things much worse.

There's little wrong with the current squad, but a little more transparency please Mr Ridsdale.

I think Peter Ridsdale and Dave Jones have done everything they could to strengthen the team and they should be left to get on with it .. do all football clubs have mega moaners among their 'fans'? It's a bit of a shock to see YOU joining the grumbling ones.

Sorry gtsutton, have to stand by it. Not really moaning either - i'm content if we don't get anyone in - what i don't like is being assured we would, then 10 days of complete silence....

Listen, the squad we have is one of the best Cardiff City squads in many, many years. We sure weren't helped by some arrogant types like Fowler and Bent.. but to be honest, Jones and Ridsdale are doing the right thing by the club by being conservative with the money - and can you blame them? Patience is the game - and the right person will come around. Hopefully Ched Evans! I'm just happy they didn't lose their nerve and sell Ledley to Stoke.. but it does seem as though they'll be back after him in Jan.
