Ledley Impresses As Wales Scrape Win

Cardiff City midfielder Joe Ledley was the only Bluebird involved as Wales limped to a 1-0 win over Azerbaijan thanks to a late Sam Vokes winner.

Ledley started the game in a 5 man midfield and was tidy without being spectacular. Space was at a premium in a packed midfield but Joe linked up well with Gareth Bale on the left to cause problems.

Former Bluebirds Chris Gunter, Jason Koumas and Robert Earnshaw all started the game while Gunter also won a penalty, missed by Koumas.

Cardiff City's PAul Parry was an unused substitute and subsequently retired from International ffotball feeling he was present solely to make up the numbers.

Wales travel to Russia now for tomorrow's tough encounter, we'd be delighted with a point.
