The End of Paul Parry In Attack For Cardiff City ?

Paul Parry is currently Cardiff City's longest serving player, brought in from another club and one of the only remnants of Lennie Lawrence's time in charge of the Bluebirds. He joined from Hereford United for a fee of just £75k and immediately impressed and forced his way into the Welsh squad.

However, the past few seasons have been difficult for Parry, withdrawal from the International scene for personal reasons and lack of consistency at club level. However, the inconsistency is no slur on Parry's performance or skill.

On the brink of leaving the club for Yeovil Town, Parry stayed and found success on the right flank rather than his preferred left which Joe Ledley has monopolised for several seasons now. Although he did well, Parry is very left footed and became predictable cutting inside. Nevertheless he has improved and remains dangerous on the right.

Last season however, saw yet another change for Parry as he was used in a forward role - kickstarting the season and ending up as joint top scorer with Peter Whittingham operating on the right wing.

Despite playing in attack during pre-season, the arrivals of Jay Bothroyd and Eddie Johnson in addition to Steve Thompson and Ross McCormack seem to suggest that Parry will not get a look in.

Parry seems to be somewhat a victim of his own versatility and since we have no natural right sided midfielders in the squad again this season - it seems that position remains the best option for Paul to keep his place in the side.

Hope he doesn't leave. One of my favourite blokes, and more than a decent player

Without Paul Parry's contributions last season we could have found ourselves in very serious threat of relegation ..

Parry on the left is a real threat and I cant help feel he's wasted elsewhere. Drop McPhail every now and again DJ! Ledley in the middle - you know it makes sense!

parry is a good player however could be limited this year and seems likely to fight for right midfield with whittingham as he has no real starting place with ledley no 1 lefty
