Cardiff City 1-0 Celtic: Algarve Cup

Cardiff City continued their decent pre-season with a 1-0 win over opponents Celtic in the Algarve Cup.

City started with close to the strongest line-up, but named 9 players on the bench.

Thompson hit the bar, and his flick and deft touch by McCormack set up JOE LEDLEY to fire home an excellent 18 yard drive.

Celtic enjoyed plenty of possession in a game of few chances but there was little danger for on-loan Manchester United keeper Tom Heaton to worry about.

Commingues put in a lively performance on the right side of midfield, McPhail and Rae were energetic and controlled midfield well.

For a pre-season game, we only used 1 substitute, that in the 90th minute when Commingues went down heavily. A tiring work-out for Ledley & co plus Thommo and McCormack - 90 minutes each for the only two strikers in the squad!
