Definately No Ched Evans For Cardiff City

Cardiff City have been dealt a (near fatal) blow in their bid to bring teenage striker Chedwyn Evans to the club.

The Manchester City starlet, impressive on loan in the Championship and for Wales, has recently signed a long term contract to tie his future to City but Cardiff City still hoped to attract him on loan with the offer of first team action.

However, new Man City manager Mark Hughes has seemingly ended speculation about Evans' future by publically stating there would be no move:

"Ched has been excellent in pre-season and I am glad we have secured him on a long-term contract now,"

"He has a big future and that has been demonstrated by the amount of phone calls I have had from Championship managers wanting to get him out on loan."

"But I think I am going to frustrate a lot of teams at that level because he will not be going anywhere in this transfer window."

Cardiff City currently have Steve Thompson and Ross McCormack as strikers whilst Paul Parry and youngster Jon Brown could also be used. There have been public rejections from Robbie Fowler, Marcus Bent and Kris Boyd as we struggle to find a suitable striker.
