Fowler In City Training: But Still No Contract !

The Robbie Fowler saga has been ongoing seemingly forever with the ex-Liverpool striker still to put pen to paper on a new deal to keep him at Ninian Park.

City stuck with 'God' last season in an injury ravaged campaign, overseeing his world class operations and his rehabilitation. Manager and Chairman re-iterated their desire to see a fit Fowler in a Bluebirds shirt and both believe he is capable of hitting 20 goals and firing Cardiff City to promotion.

For over a month now, Fowler has been involved with talks to extend his contract by a year. The club were only able to offer a reduced package, largely based around appearances and performance in a 'pay-as-you-play' deal. The terms were agreed and Fowler's agent has confirmed the contract is acceptable.

However, with rumoured interest from the Middle East, Fowler has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates and Dubai where he owns property. Though club and apparently player are keen on a Ninian Park stay, nothing has happened.

Fowler is even in training this week with the Bluebirds (most likely looking 'sharp'!) so why on earth has no contract been signed sealed and delivered? If it's acceptable, get it done. If he's holding out then we mustn't miss out! If Fowler did find the lure of Dubai's cash too much - we would be left another striker short, receive no transfer money and have to scrounge a lower quality player from the few lesft available.

Fowler dallied last season before joining resulting in him missing pre-season training and starting the season is woeful shape. That won't be allowed to happen this year but there must be doubt in his mind that he will even stay.

I hope we're not just getting him fit to fly off to Dubai - I suppose we forked out for the 1st class flights all over the place to get him patched up last season ..

could he really do that?! I know many people have no morals but he's screwed us around enough with sweet FA to show so far....
