Cardiff City fans have had somewhat of a rough ride in recent years and have been forced to accept rejections from many targets with little explaination or consolation.
The speak from management has spoken of poor facilities, lack of funds and difficulties in 'selling the dream'. As such we have missed out on numerous targets who opted for pastures elswhere.
Chris Killen was one recent example, he announced the move himself to be all tied up only to perform a last minute U-turn and join Celtic. Rowan Vine was another striker in whom our interest served only to alert other clubs to his availablity.
Bluebirds fans with slightly longer memories will remember situations involving Jody Morris and Sean Gregan - both midfielders looking set to sign before driving for 'talks elsewhere' never to return.
This week however saw a different story! Ross McCormack is highly rated, and had been watched by our scouts. Notrtingham Forest appeared on the verge of signing him for a small fee but this time it was us who invited the player for last minute talks.
The facilities, spiel and terms appealed to McCormack and he was delighted to plump for the Bluebirds.
The eternally gazumped, turn gazumpers and to rub it in - Notts Forest are rumoured to be offering 36 year old Andrew Cole a £25000pw deal ! Tables well and truly turned there!
Just a couple more additions could see a Cardiff City squad fully equipped for a lasting promotion challenge next season. The buzz is back around the club and things are looking drastically better than in previous seasons.
