Scimeca Set For Cardiff City Stay

Cardiff City midfielder Riccy Scimeca has bounced back from a torrid year and has sufficiently proved his fitness to win a years extension to his Cardiff City contract.

After almost a year out with a troublesome groin injury, including an infection contracted during an operation, Scimeca returned to training in 2008 though severely lacking in match fitness.

He has since returned to first team action and made a few appearances, enough to convince Dave Jones that he can play a part next season. Scimeca is an influential and popular member of the squad, he is physical and dominant in midfield as well as chipping in with goals.

The player and club are in advanced negotiations with a deal expected to be signed shortly.
