Cardiff City 2-1 Pompey - But Not In A Good Way!

Cardiff City and Portsmouth have beaten off all competition, and the odds in reaching the FA Cup final. The basis for both sides' run has been the miserly defending rather than goalscoring heroics with Sol Campbell, Silvain Distin, Glenn Loovens and Roger Johnson resolute.

Cardiff City have conceeded two goals throughout the campaign, ironically to the lowest opposition they have faced. Kevin McNaughton's own goal gave non-league Chasetown hope in the third round before Theo Robinson netted a consolation for Hereford United in round 4. Since then, Wolves, Middlesbrough and Barnsley have failed to beat the City defence.

Porstsmouth fare even better in the goals conceeded stats. Only Plymouth Arygle have scored throughout the campaign with even the striking power of Manchester United unable to break down Pompey.

With just 3 goals conceeded between the sides in over 900 minutes of play, don;t be expecting too many goals in the final. That said, watch the floodgates open now and stuff my prediction - wouldn't that be terrible?!?

Pointless article. You let in 2 goals & we concede 1. Though we give you credit for winning at 'Boro, the rest wasn't too hard.

true - but we were truly awful! both of us have had an easy cup run (excluding man u - which i will admit was a lot of luck) - so its hardley a surprise so few goals have been scored! still, i dont expect much on saturday...

HMM but you have stopped scoreing in the premier as well, and started to leak as well..While we have been scoreing and leaking which could suggest some goals..obviously by us..
