Middlesbrough Eye Cardiff City's Johnson

Cardiff City are already braced for plenty of activity of the summer, with Joe Ledley and Aaron Ramsey seriously hot property and courted by numerous Premiership clubs.

Other players like McPhail, Parry and Capaldi have attracted recent interest while others like Thompson, Feeney and Forde could all be allowed to leave.

One area where Cardiff have been strong is at centre-back with Roger Johnson and Glenn Loovens in good form this season. Johnson won the supporters' player of the year award and has put in some fine, and consistent performances this season.

One club who have noticed Johnson's form is Middlesbrough, whom we knocked out of the FA Cup quarter-final, RJ himself getting the second goal. Gareth Southgate probably knows a thing or two about centre-halves and is considering a summer transfer for Johnson and could table a bid in the region of £1.5m.

Thats a good profit on the £300k spent two seasons away, but not big enough money for such a talented player with still more to come.

I think Roger Johnson should be named captain of the Bluebirds next season, hopefully that will be incentive enough and ward off any clubs who come knocking.

£1.5m, now we all know thats not gonna be cash upfront it will be something like £500,000 upfront, and another £500,000 after 40 odd games (and we all know he wont play that for premiership team like boro) and £500,000 for something like when ever he represents england, and PR will say, the offer was too good to refuse

and just thinking of it, if we do end up selling, we PR give us money to strenghten or will he leave us in dead water and look on the free-bes
