'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Major New Backing For Cardiff City ?

Cardiff City have been talking with several parties interested in investing in the club. Chairman Peter Ridsdale and manager Dave JOnes enjoyed promising discussions in Barcelona last week with one potential investor and work continues behind the scenes to build for a brighter future.

Good on-field fotunes, in particualr a fantastic cup run taking us to the FA Cup final at Wembley, as well as a new stadium - push Cardiff City into the public eye and make the club attractive to potential suitors.

With a huge worldwide audience primed to watch the FA Cup final, Cardiff City's prominence will only rise and right now the club looks attractive.

The Langston court case still looms over the club ominously but the case remains 'robust', and the summary sudgement was rejected out-of-hand last month. Should that be cleared up, and talks may well be going on behind the scenes, then the future impoves drastically for the club.

Of course, faceless moneymen with little interest in football are not welcome at Ninian Park. This football club has a passion, and tradition and will not sell its soul for one season in the Premiership at the cost of its future. However, with the right set-up and backers, we can move forward and closer to our goal.

Be careful when inviting foreign investment, look at the Premiership all the foreign owners most only appear to be in it to make money, and not for the satisfaction gleamed years ago from owning your local football club.
