Cardiff City Player Branded a 'Muppet'

Darren Purse's late red card for Cardiff City against Burnley on the weekend looks set to rule him out of the FA Cup final against Portsmouth and won him few friends in Lancashire over the weekend.

Following the challenge, Andrew Cole raceed down the tunnel to confront Purse, followed by substitutes, coaches and the police. Cole later revealed he had a chunk taken from his leg by the tackle and required numerous stitches.

Nothing happened in the tunnel, but I did go after Purse,"

"It was one of the worst tackles I have had in my career. I have played the game at the highest level for 18 years and some muppet tries to challenge me like that. He can`t play anyway."

"If I only play two games next season I hope it is Cardiff home and away."

Cole was also furious with Cardiff City manager Dave Jones after claims that Cole's reaction got Purse sent off.

cole says, if he only plays 2 games next season its both against cardiff, what if cardiffs one of the 1st game of the season and then the return game is at the end, by january, cole with have been p-off that he only played one, and then will say hes to good to be on the bench, but if he is so good as hes braggin to be, then why is he playing in the championship. sort it out cole, dont get to big headed cause of your past

Bluebird Cole is a real big head believe me we had him at Pompey for a year and couldn't wait to get rid.... but that said the tackles was awful... If this gets overtuned then the FA are 'Muppets' !

yea, its silly, okay hes got a history, so has the likes of teddy sheringham, he doesnt feature much, but he doesnt brag or get big headed, i think cole needs to look at himself, and if he is soo good ask him self why is he in the championship, why aint he top scorer and why dont teams like him
