Cardiff City players, staff, and to a lesser extent fans can now look forward to somewhat of a break after a hectic period.
The Bluebirds' enjoyable cup run has had the added effect of further clogging up an already congested fixture list while Cardiff already have a small squad and several injuries.
Three games this week was a big ask for Cardiff, especially a gruelling 90 minutes on the massive Wembley pitch in a tence and important cup semi-final.
That was follwed by a daunting trip to Ipswich Town with the best home record in the Championship and a home encounter against a battling Blackpool. Prior to that was another midweek game against promotion chasing West Brom.
All things considered, Cardiff City have performed exceptionally well recently winning games and grinding out results to keep themselves in (albeit unlikely) play-off contention.
Dave Jones has shuffled his squad to good effect, while the players have continued to show the passion, commitment and desire that is needed at this level.
Although we have another big game on the weekend, a trip to already relegated Scunthorpe United, this week will seem like a mini-holiday to the players and hopefully allow some of the knocks and bruises to be rested.
Credit to the players, they kept the tempo high and only towards the end did the inevitable tiredness begin to show.
A rest, then back to training for another must win game.....
