'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Local Boy In The Photograph

Cardiff City produced a historic victory yesterday after a brilliant cup run which will now see us in the FA Cup final.

The game was won in the 9th minute after a spectacular volleyed goal from Bluebirds midfielder Joe Ledley. The goal aside, Ledley was official named man of the match and for once I whole-heartedly agree with that decision.

Ledley was simply superb. He tormented the Barnsley right flank and produced a number of dangerous crosses. One cross to Gavin Rae was perfect and should have brought a second goal for Cardiff but Ledley beat his man with ease.

On display were a number of silky skills we rarely see from Ledley, but they were well exectuted and at the right time - causing problems for the Tykes and relieving pressure from the Bluebirds.

After his excellent personal performance, you could see what it meant to Ledley as a Cardiff boy, and a Bluebirds supporter. He was emotional to say the least, engaging the crowd and clapping along with Men Of Harlech.

The only downside to his performance was that numerous scouts will have been present and Ledley's stock can only have improved.

What a goal, what a performance and what a day!

yes what a day, what a result, but the game could of gone easily the other way, we had so many chances we should of burried by we just couldnt, and we where forutune not to concead, so if we are to stand up to the pompey we need to work on these areas, but apart from that COME ON THE CITY!!!

Definately - after the first half I never thought 1 would be enough!

same, i thought that we played well until our goal, then we got to confident, and barnsley played football, but second half we did take command and we should of scored more but on the day our finishing wasnt clinical enough, i dont believe hasselbaink did much as he was closed down all the time. ,its finaly good to see the players actually shooting, instead of looking for tap ins
