Barnsley Fan's View On Cardiff Clash

With the most important game in Cardiff City living memory just around the corner, we headed over to Vital Barnsley to get the views of a dedicated Tyke.

Looking dodgy for relegation, how confident are you in Championship survival?

Quietly confident. It`s a shame really because we`ve come so far since last season in terms of improving the squad but we appear to be in the same precarious position. Six more points should do us I think.

Would you sacrifice Championship status to lift the Cup?

Definately. Although I`m not sure if other fans would agree. Having our name on the Cup in a football world where billions are spent to buy glory! We could easily get promoted again back to the Championship.

Liverpool, Chelsea now Cardiff - is it really a bigger game for you?

Without a doubt. Beating Liverpool was unbelievable, we thought it couldn`t get any better and then we beat 'money bags` Chelsea! Which truly was incredible. But this is definitely the biggest game if you look at what`s at stake.

Your feelings on ex-Tyke McPhail and Peter Ridsdale?

Like many others I don`t really care for Mr Ridsdale, he told a few porky pies in his time at Oakwell! I truly admired McPhail when he was at Barnsley, a very gifted football player, no hard feelings from me, although thousands of other Tykes will disagree!

If you could have one Cardiff player on a free, who and why?

At this moment in time I`d say Jimmy Floyd. He`s obviously very experienced and will be relishing such a big game. He just seems able to pulll a goal out of a 'nothing` situation.

Key Barnsley player this weekend?

Obviously Brian Howard. He is the one the rest of the team look up to and he will be a threat when through on goal, after all, he`s scored more than all our striker`s put together!

Prediction for the game?

It will be very close. I`m going to say 1-0 to the Reds.

Good luck lads. Let`s hope for an entertaining and far match.

Thanks go to Matt over at Vital Barnsley, the waiting is nearly over. We'll all have a gap in our time at 3pm tomorrow - but Sunday will see 33000 Bluebirds flocking to Wembley.
