Southampton FC are going through a tricky time on the pitch, their perilous position marginally above the drop zone tells us that.
However, off the field, the Southampton dressing room must already be at a low before they travel to Ninian Park this week to play Cardiff City.
With confidence already scant, two of the well known Saints players have been involved in an incident described as embarrassing at best, resulting in police action being taken.
Nathan Dyer and Bradley Wright-Phillips have were alledgedly caught on CCTV at a Hampshire club with Dyer seemingly going through a bag in the cloakroom while his team-mate kept watch. Police questioned both men before they were released on bail yesterday.
Thats pretty daft fellas, not to mention a fairly serious crime. Dyer is an exciting winger and causes plenty of problems for Championship defences. He has been injured for some time and may not have taken part in this weekend's game.
Bradley Wright-Phillips would have been involved, a pacy and powerful striker he has been highly rated for some time but has yet to live up to his potential.
Both players have been disiplined to the fullest extent possible by the club - a fine equivalent to two weeks wages. Both are likely to be out of favour and the incident can have done nothing to help Southampton's preparations for a battle against relegation.
