Cardiff City Fail In Jimmy Appeal

Cardiff City failed in their bid to get Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's red card rescinded meaning the veteran striker will now face a spell on the sidelined.

JFH was shown a straight red for a high footed tackle on Colchester United goalkeeper Dean Gerken at the weekend, but it was not a maliscious challenge. Dave Jones was adament it was not a red card while opposition manager Geraint Williams also felt the decision was harsh.

The ban was upheld by the FAW panel and Hasselbaink now misses three league games, starting with Bristol City at the weekend. He will though be back to face Barnsley in the FA Cup semi-final.

Perhaps the prolonged break will allow Hasselbaink to rest his aging legs and he can be in top form for what appears to be the most important game of the season for Cardiff now.

the red card was harsh but at least they didn't decide his appeal was frivilous and increase it to 4! Then he would have missed the semi!
