U's Fan's View On Cardiff Clash

Vital Cardiff City this week caught up with an ardent (but somewhat disconsulate!) Colchester United fan ahead of tomorrow's game> Our fan preferred to remain un-named though he assures me it has nothing to do with being ashamed of the U's:

Woeful position - whats been going wrong?

The fact that we've lost 5 in a row seems to have done the trick! Results have been shocking, partly due to injuries and confidence but its been a real disappointing season.

Too late to avoid the drop?

I'd say so yes. With the form we're in too, I cant see us picking up 10 points before the end of the season - we'd need plenty more than that!

Is it (Welshman) Geraint Williams' fault?

He exceeded expectations last season, but we've fallen well short now. That has a lot to do with losing Cureton, Iwelumo and Garcia - I'm sure Geraint didn't choose for that. He's doing his best and has been unlucky at times - I completely disagree with Derby County's decision to sack Billy Davies and I'm ashamed to say we may be the Derby of the Championship!!!

If you could have one Cardiff player on a free?

Could be any! I would definately choose your defender Johnson though. I notice him in all the highlights and he always seems to be in the way! Looked class against Middlesbrough and could help our defence out no end I'd think.

Colchester United player to watch - how will they hurt us?

Without a doubt Kevin Lisbie is a man on a mission. For a relegation likely team, a striker sho nets in 3 consecutive games is not to blame! He's a solid striker, but we keep letting the other team score more!

Prediction for the game?

I honestly think we'll be up for it, we have to be but a draw is the best we can hope for - 1-1.

Thanks to SCH for their views.

Not sure how we manage it Stevie, but the fans we find are usually fairly well agreed with ! Hope its a good game...

Yeah, hopefully, we have just signed Matt Heath on loan from Leeds, should make his debut against you Bluebirds...:-)

ah - wondered if Bela Belogh would start - he had a trial here, and apparently impressed then we never heard of him again !

lol! Came on the other night, didn't look too bad, a few Championship clubs looked at him. Is on loan with view to a permanant deal, reckon we might send him back though! Our manager Williams has been praising you again. http://www.colchester.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=103323 But he does support you!!

on paper, a very boring game, as we have not had a striker score in a bizare 300 mins or something, and colchester are unfortunatly finding themselfs bottom. but saying that, teams at the bottom are the hardest to play agaisnt, personally down as a 0-0 draw, but a goal for either side will clinch i think

1-1! He called it correctly!
