Cardiff City produced a horrendous display in losing 1-0 to Leicester City over the weekend. The Bluebirds were jaded, toothless and looked a very very poor quality side throughout.
None of the experienced players lead from the front, while youngsters like Aaron Ramsey were unable to get involved. In truth - it was a shocker.
Warning bells sounded early on as Leicester got a number of early crosses in. A woeful Peter Enckelman clearance gifteed DJ Campbell a chance but Enckelman recovered with a good save. Roger Johnson manager to clear off the line soon afterwards.
Leicester continued to llok like the better side, though lacked real danger and would have been beaten at most Championship grounds.
The Foxes winning goal came courtesy of Cardiff City captain Darren Purse who scored a perfectly placed volley past Enckelman when there appeared little danger. Stunned silence.
You'll notice there has been no mention of Cardiff City attacks or threats, thats because there weren't any. The closest was when a Hasselbaink cross narrowly evaded Gavin Rae's head - the Scotsman was not expecting and Cardiff's best chance went begging.
Leicester City always looked better, but were never particularly dangerous. The second half was truly abysmal and most City fans left talking of relegation rather than the play-offs that were so close just a few games ago.
