Cardiff Get Un-Inspiring Cup Draw

Cardiff City were handed an uninspiring FA Cup draw against Sheffield United or Middlesborough with the two sides playing out the only draw of the previous round.

Cardiff really wanted a home draw and had a decent chance of pulling either Manchester United or Chelsea.

However they will either face a club in the same division, or a relatively unexciting tie against Gareth Southgate's Middlesborough. The game will also be played away from home with a long trip to North England for Cardiff City's travelling fans.

A semi-final match at Wembley is the prize and Cardiff City certainly have a chance of reaching that goal. Sheffield United are struggling in the Championship while Middlesborough are inconsistent and could count themselves somewhat lucky to escape with a 0-0 draw against Sheffield United.

After West Brom away, that was the least appealing of all the possible draws. However, thats waht we've got and it represents a realistic chance to progress. We will be underdogs for the game, for the first time in this year's cup run but that often suits our style.
