Cardiff City's veteran striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was instrumental in Cardiff's 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers which saw them enter the draw for the FA Cup quarter final.
Hasselbaink flicked on for Whittingham to open the scoring, then added a second himself with a glorious curled effort after bamboozling the Wolves defence.
Jimmy told the Western Mail:
'It was a great start and that helped us massively. It gave us even more confidence.'
'My goal, well, it was just one of those moments when you don`t really think, you are just single-minded.'
'You want to put it in the corner and I could not have hit it any better actually. A great goal, but great midfield play as well.'
Hasselbaink has been playing alongside Paul Parry in attack of late but has come under scrutiny for drifting in and out of games. However, on Saturday the Dutchman was very impressive indeed and scored a beauty to cap off a fine display. That is why he was brought to the club and with good service, he is still a very dangerous player.
Hasselbaink was replaced by Steve Thompson after 76 minutes after feeling a tightening in his groin. There have been many games recently for Cardiff and the fixture pile-up must take its toll on a player who will turn 36 next month. Hopefully, Hasselbaink can rest now and come resume his form in the next game, away at Sheffield Wednesday.
