Cardiff Interest In Everton Star

Cardiff City are reportedly interested in bringing Everton's highly rated striker Victor Anichebe on loan to Ninian Park.

Cardiff have been scouring the loan market for a suitable frontman to add pace an edge to their attacks. Anichebe would fit the bill and is an exciting prospect for the future - scoring in Everton's 2-0 win over SK Brann yesterday in the UEFA cup.

However, it seems unlikely that Everton boss David Moyes would allow the striker to leave. Yakubu is back in training for the Toffees but is in disgrace after failing to report back immediately from the African Cup of Nations.

Everton do have Andy Johnson, James Vaughan and Yakubu as strikers, as well as favouring a 4-5-1 formation. Anichebe features regualrly in cup games and from the bench in Premeiership matches. While they may be keen for Anichebe to gain valuable first team experience, this is by no means a done deal and is merely a rumour at the is stage - albeit a welcome one.
