Vital Cardiff City spoke to Phil B, a Coventry City fan this week ahead of the midweek game between CCFC and CCFC. However, the Sky Blues yesterday sacked their manager - so we hurried back to Phil to get revised opinions:
The right decision to sack Iain Dowie
Not sure to be honest, I suppose its the right time to allow building for next season but Dowie is a proven manager and I cant see us getting any better. We're all disappointed, and Dowie is at the heart of that - but it does seem a little knee-jerk to me, especially with all the off-field problems.
What's going on with the proposed CCFC takeover?
It's been draggin on too long. Obviously it's a relief that everything's settling down now but I just want it sorted and done with. Hopefully the next week will see it all done and dusted.
You must be disappointed with the position, what's gone wrong?
It's strange. We have some really good players, better than in recent years but it's just not happening as a team. Consistency is the key, we're brilliant one week - then chosking the next two. I guess that means you have to look at the manager, and thats what's happened.
Coventry player to watch and why?
Michael Mifsud has been the find of the season to my mind. He a class performer and if he gets the service - he will score. If he doesn't, he's more than capable of making something for himself.
If you could have one Cardiff City player on a free?
I think we're stronger than Cardiff in attack so I think a defender more mobile than De Zeeuw would be an asset. I don;t know your guys too well but I've seen Roger Johnson doing well and scoring some goals.
Prediction for the game?
Well its tricky to call with the changes at the Ricoh, If we're on form its a win for us but I suspect we'll be nervous and I see a 1-1 draw.
